VINTAGE SWAROVSKI CRYSTAL "TRUNK SHOW" 7/14 and 7/15

A BEAD BOUTIQUE will host a two day VINTAGE SWAROVSKI CRYSTAL "TRUNK SHOW" Tuesday and Wednesday (July 14 and 15). I love crystals! (Anyone surprised?) Many of you do, too. You'll want to stop by and check out the large selection of crystals in a variety of shapes, colors and styles... right here at 2924 Jackson Street in Alexandria.

We should be ready when we open at 11 a.m. Come, shop early while the selection is good!

BEAD OVER SUCCESS!

As I left A BEAD BOUTIQUE at 1:15 a.m. or so, I thought, "I must be a beadaholic!" Otherwise, why would I work all day and have a BEAD OVER at the end of such a busy day? Then again, there was really never a doubt about my bead addiction or even my addition to spending time with other beaders!

We welcomed beaders from all over Louisiana on Friday. I love meeting new beaders, or first-time customers to A BEAD BOUTIQUE. Several had hoped to find a vacancy in our BEAD OVER. I promise, we'll do it again.

The general consensus was that a monthly BEAD OVER would be great! A very special thank you to Ted and Dani for teaching an early class for us. Lentha taught the Swarovski puffy heart two times last night! Thank you! Congratulations to Jodie who made not one, but two swarovski puffy hearts last night during the bead over! Pretty impressive!

Fran, Barbara, Patty and Rebecca caught on to the chain maille rather quickly. Rachel, a first time bead shop customer (anywhere) made a great bracelet! Denise, Jodie and Debbie made puffy hearts. Ginger made a knotted pearl bracelet. We had fun with some wire projects later. Barbara, who had not done much with wire, caught on rather quickly! I think everyone had fun!

I love watching beaders enjoy their beads! Debbie, who drove from Kelly, amazes us with her creative ways of getting organized. She could teach a class on how to organize your large selection of beads! She uses lots of different items to store her beads, in a way that makes it easy for you to find what you are looking for! I could take a lesson! Thanks, Debbie, for staying until I locked up!

Pam will open this morning at 11 a.m. We'll be in the shop until 4:30, at least. We are expecting folks from all over Louisiana today. Why don't you join us @ A BEAD BOUTIQUE... where there is always something going on!

Good Morning A BEAD BOUTIQUE!

We are gearing up for a great day and weekend here! I came in early to get things together for today and our BEAD OVER... I was getting so much done, feeling good about myself... and boom! The lights went out! The air conditioner stopped! The phone died! My heart sunk! (Did I pay the utility bill?) You know, all those thoughts that run through your mind! Soon I realized that if I didn't pay my bill, neither did the neighbors! The power is back on now, thank goodness! It's cooling down! I'm getting stuff done! Getting more excited by the minute!

We have a great group for the BEAD OVER tonight... and some special treats in store for those who pre-registered! For those of you who were not able to come this time, I promise, we will do this regularly... once a month. The group tonight is my "pilot group" and we'll plan our strategy and schedule our next BEAD OVER!

I love hearing from those of you who read this website regularly (or by accident). One reader left me a note, telling me that she would love to live closer to A BEAD BOUTIQUE because there was nothing happening in the bead shops near her home (in southern California). I told her that here in the "true south" we know about hospitality and entertaining! At A BEAD BOUTIQUE I work real hard to make customers feel right at home! (The great selection of beads doesn't hurt anything, either!)

One customer visiting here from Las Vegas said she has two favorite bead stores (I'm expecting to hear about the great shops there in Nevada). Instead she says, "This one and another one in California... you are my favorites!" Wow! That is a complement! Thank you!

We work hard here at A BEAD BOUTIQUE to be the best bead shop around! My commitment to you is more of the same... more great beads, classes, fun, and more BEAD OVERS... I promise!

Thursday, BEADING THE HEAT @ A BEAD BOUTIQUE!

We will BEAD THE HEAT today... with a new air conditioner! It was a little warm yesterday in the shop. When I am warm, everyone else is warm-er! After checking things out, we realized that the small a/c decided to go on to glory! After a little "fun in the heat", Ted and I were able to change out that air conditioner with a new one! When I left at 9:40 last night, the shop was nice and cold! A special thank you to Vicki and Micky who were so willing to help out, along with Ginnie and Pam (who just happened to stop by the shop to finish a necklace!)

Not to worry... you can BEAD THE HEAT @ A BEAD BOUTIQUE!

I will open at 11 a.m. today and end today with a class! Today will be spent finalizing things for our BEAD OVER tomorrow night. I did have one cancellation and will go to the waiting list. The plan is to have another BEAD OVER later this summer, since so many who wanted to come were unable to do so!

I received another box yesterday, and confirmation that two more were also shipped. Watch for more information about new items coming out soon!

Got Beads? We do!

I love the gemstone wall! Then again, I love the crystal cabinet... and the fresh water pearl wall, and the Czech fire polished wall, and the vintage wall... well, you get the idea... I LOVE EVERY WALL IN A BEAD BOUTIQUE! It has been so nice enjoying the beautiful beads! And chatting with the UPS truck driver, leaving not one or two boxes, but three! Three new boxes! I love it!

Yesterday Pam stopped by for a minute at 10:30 a.m. and left at 8:00 p.m. last night. We were busy, non-stop, the entire day! I was so glad she was here. We were never alone, not for one minute! Amazing day! My kind of day @ A BEAD BOUTIQUE! I love meeting new beaders, people who are first-time customers! I love seeing customers who have been away for awhile... getting back to "beading the heat" right here at A BEAD BOUTIQUE!

BEAD MARKET COMING TO ALEXANDRIA OCTOBER 10 and 11th!

I just heard from Rebekah Wills, promoter for The BEAD MARKET. Many of you might remember the two shows she had in Bossier a couple of years back. Rebekah and I talked a few weeks ago about the possibility of Alexandria being the location for a show. I am pleased to announce that I just heard from Rebekah with this great news!

This weekend at A BEAD BOUTIQUE...

We had a great week last week! Thank you to Pam for helping out while I was home with Ted. Sarah and the boys came on Wednesday and stayed a few days, joined by Jarrod for the weekend. We did enjoy those boys! Arthur, Solly and I had a great time in the pool! They left on Saturday evening, after our 3 HOURS ON THE 4TH SALE!

We continued BEADING THE HEAT here all last week! It was hot outside, but oh, so cool inside! The TRUNK SHOW continued. We still have a few items to select from!

Congratulations to our DOOR PRIZE WINNERS during our July 4th sale... Carolyn Grisham and Dianne Pennington. LAURA LEE won our WEEKLY DOOR PRIZE drawing! Congratulations to her, as well!

A new month... one half of 2009 is over! Can you believe it? I'm amazed. Seems like only yesterday we were celebrating Christmas! And... we are CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS ALL JULY @ A BEAD BOUTIQUE! Watch for more information real soon!

We were very busy all day today! There is still a nice selection on the TRUNK SHOW table. Join us! We welcomed a brand new beader tonight... Maddie and her grandmom! Maddie is a very talented young lady. I enjoyed meeting her! Her and her grandmother made great pieces tonight!

Pam will open the shop Wednesday at 11 a.m. Ted is having a surgical procedure and I will be with him. I will also have Sarah and my grandsons with me at home. They are the official "Get Well Crew!" I can't imagine anything better than the grandsons and their Mom! We are going to have a grand time!

I'll be popping in and out of the shop... probably with at least one grandson at some point! Note our special hours on Friday and Saturday...
